About your Land Rover

Founded in 1948, Land Rover was originally a one-off model made by Rover. However, the 4×4 was redesigned and worked on as its own make and by 1978, a series of new models emerged and sealed Land Rover’s name as a budding brand of its own. Land Rover produce thousands of vehicles for the British and Australian military to make use of.

In 2013 Land Rover became part of the Jaguar Land Rover Group (when Tata Motors bought both the marques from Ford). Land Rover also makes the seven-seater Land Rover Discovery and the Land Rover Defender. The Land Rover Discovery has been in production since 1989 and is a true off-road family car. The Land Rover Defender began production in 1983 as the 90/110 but became known as the Defender in 1990. A superb off road vehicle it proved to be a great workhorse and family transport. In 2020 a new Defender was launched that met European crash safety regulations for pedestrians.

With Land Rover being active on racetracks, army bases and public roads all over the world, it’s not hard to see why they are now so highly desirable. Jaguar Land Rover is now looking to build the next generation of luxury electric cars right here in the UK, confirming the company’s commitment to homegrown success.

Sturdy, robust motoring with a touch of British extravagance and class make driving a Land Rover satisfying and comfortable. As an owner of such a classic marque, make sure you protect yourself with an Car Warranty for your Land Rover from Warrantywise. Get the UK’s best extended car warranty and complete peace of mind.
