TV personality, presenter and master mechanic Edd China has become Warrantywise’s new expert arbiter. Within this position, Edd will utilise his master mechanic knowledge to help shape and reinforce Warrantywise’s comprehensive discretionary warranty packages. Focusing on fairness and delivering customer-first service, Edd will offer an unbiased view of any customer dispute. He will use his discretion to review each claim on its merits and will have the final say over repairs.
An automotive enthusiast, presenter, master mechanic, motoring specialist and inventor, Edd China, best known for co-presenting the Discovery Channel’s Wheeler Dealers programme, has always been passionate about all things automotive and engineering. Following a degree in Engineering Product Design from London South Bank University and a stint as a special effects technician on the well-loved sitcom Father Ted, Edd is currently engaged in several electric vehicle (EV) engineering and development projects, alongside his growing YouTube presence.
Edd will resume the role from long-standing partner of 15 years, Quentin Willson, who is passing the Warrantywise baton to focus on other projects including campaigns for cleaner transport and EV advocacy. As arbiter, Edd will be responsible for supporting Warrantywise and its customers by providing input to the contents of its leading extended warranty plans. As a master mechanic, Edd is perfectly placed to not only be able to advise on how to ensure its warranty plans are in keeping with industry trends and provide competitive advantages, but also ensure it meets the highest level of service and protection possible.
Trustpilot rated Excellent*, Warrantywise is committed to providing the highest levels of customer service and as arbiter, Edd will be working with the business to ensure it retains and grows its status. He will do this by ensuring that Warrantywise stays at the forefront of customer service with a product that is clear, transparent, and comprehensive. He will also exercise his discretion and hold the final say over any repairs and can overturn any decision he doesn’t deem fair or reasonable on any customer’s’ behalf.
Edd China commented on the partnership and said: “Having an extended warranty from Warrantywise means you can drive with confidence, knowing that if something goes wrong, you’re covered. It’s like having a safety net for your car.” Commenting further on his new role, Edd concluded, “Working with Warrantywise my quest is to educate and ensure that those who already have a second-hand vehicle or are looking to buy a car from the used car market have the peace of mind they are doing so with protection against unexpected repair costs.”
Lawrence Whittaker, CEO of Warrantywise said: “There are over 33 million cars** on UK roads today with the average age of car now 10 years***. This means there could be potentially millions of used car owners that don’t have any form of warranty from the OEM or through aftermarket providers like us [Warrantywise]. With cars becoming more complex and people keeping their cars for longer, we’re keen to promote, with Edd’s help, the benefits of protecting these cars and helping avoid the risk of expensive bills.
“I would, on behalf of the entire team, also like to wish Quentin [Willson] all the best with his future endeavours and thank him for his work with us over the last 15 years. Quentin [Willson] assisted us with making our packages the most comprehensive they could be and aided us to refine them to stay at the forefront of the industry. Edd, as a master mechanic and industry voice, will be well placed to continue Quentin’s good work and further develop the Warrantywise warranty to be the most comprehensive and consumer-focused warranty on the market.”
